� Bertrand Fitoussi
RBC Capital Markets has
hired Bertrand Fitoussi as
managing director and
head of European
structured interest rate
sales. He was previously
deputy global head of
structured rate products at
Société Générale. Fitoussi
will be based in London
and report to Avril
Pomper, head of fixed
income and currencies
and financial product
sales, Europe.
� Ritesh Rihani
Ritesh Rihani has joined
Bank of America Merrill
Lynch as head of
alternative investments for
wealth management,
Europe, the Middle East
and Africa. In the newly
created role, he will be
responsible for providing
an integrated, solutionsoriented
product and
service programme for
clients. He was previously
at Barclays Wealth.
� Henry Fischel-Bock
Following Rihani’s
departure, Barclays Wealth
has recruited Henry
Fischel-Bock as head of
London, international
private bank, EMEA. He
joins from the
International Planning
Group, a client advisory
firm in Miami, US, where
he was senior vice
president. He has
previously worked for US
Trust – Bank of America,
Citigroup, JP Morgan and
Dresdner Private Bank.
� Piers Hillier
LV= Asset Management
has appointed Piers Hillier
as its chief investment
officer. Hillier has 20
years’ experience in
investment management
and has held a number
of senior positions,
including investment
head at West LB Mellon
Asset Management
and managing director
at Deutsche Asset
Management. Most
recently, he has worked in
consultancy CIO roles for
several investment firms.
� John Ions
John Ions has been
appointed head of retail at
Liontrust Asset
Management as it seeks to
expand sales via IFAs,
discretionaries, platforms
and life companies.
He was previously chief
executive of Tactica Fund
Management, which
distributes onshore and
offshore multi-asset class
funds managed by
Goldman Sachs
International. Ions has
held roles as joint
managing director of SG
Asset Management and
chief executive of Société
Générale Unit Trusts,
having co-founded the
business in 1998. He was
also head of distribution
at Aberdeen Asset
Management.
� Jonathan Simmons
Cazenove Capital has
recruited Jonathan
Simmons as its deskbased
UK advisory
sales consultant for
the North. He joins
from Prudential and
will be responsible for
supporting and working
with intermediaries
based in the North with
which Cazenove has an
existing relationship. In
addition, he will look
to broaden this network
by cementing new
relationships with IFAs in
this area.

AIC improves
gearing data
The Association of
Investment Companies
(AIC) has enhanced the
investment company
gearing data for member
companies on www.
theaic.co.uk. For data
from 31 January, 2010,
the AIC has published
two figures: a gross
gearing figure and a net
gearing figure, which
takes account of cash and
cash equivalents in the
company’s portfolio.
