sales head Ben
Waterhouse is to join
Fidelity International as
head of UK wholesale
sales. He is expected to be
on board in the coming
months and will work
alongside Peter Hicks,
head of UK retail sales,
and will report to Gary
Shaughnessy, UK
managing director. He
spent 11 years at L&G,
where he has been
responsible for its mutual
fund business across the
entire UK intermediary
market since 2005.

VAM Funds has appointed
Tim Thornton as business
development manager in
a bid to bolster its UK
presence. With 15 years
experience in the
investment management
industry, he will report to
Nigel Watson, global sales
director, and will be based
primarily in the UK.
� Richard Killingbeck
Credit Suisse has hired
Richard Killingbeck as
head of its regional UK
private banking business.
He will report to Ian
Marsh, CEO of Credit
Suisse’s UK private
banking business. He joins
from Close Brothers,
where he was CEO of the
private asset management
business.
� Sarah Macdonald
RBC Wealth Management
has recruited Sarah
Macdonald as a director,
focusing on UK
entrepreneurial clients.
She specialises in advising
high net worth clients on
asset management and
wealth structuring,
including portfolio
construction, wealth
preservation, succession
issues and philanthropy.
She was previously at
Barclays Wealth and has
worked in the financial
services industry for over
ten years.

Veritas Asset Management
has appointed Neil
Cooper to the role of
senior analyst for its
global team. Prior to
joining Veritas, Cooper
was at Insight Investment
where he was an
investment analyst in the
global financial sector. He
spent six years at UBS
Global Asset Mgt, where
he was an investment
analyst in the Pan-
European banking sector
and led the team
managing the European
Analyst Financials Fund.

Standard Life Investments
has appointed Colin
Clark as director for its
global client group. He
has been a non-executive
director for over five
years. He was previously
with Merrill Lynch
Investment Managers and
prior to this with Mercury
Asset Management.

Merrill Lynch
hires Wynter
Merrill Lynch has
appointed Guy Wynter as
senior portfolio manager in
its portfolio management
arm. He has joined from
BlackRock, where he
was a managing director
responsible for charity and
pensions funds.
In his new role, Wynter
will manage the portfolios
of high and ultra high net
worth clients.
Bailey on board
at Quilter
Quilter has appointed
Gillian Bailey as an
investment manager in
its Glasgow office. She
joins from Cornelian Asset
Managers in Edinburgh
where she was associate
director. Prior to this, she
held several roles serving
Scottish clients.
